My business trip to Lijiang and Chengdu (1)
Lijiang Treasure Harbour International Hotel and welcoming Banner Today is Sunday, Feb 25,2007. Now I'm on MU5712 flying for Lijiang. It's an eastern airline's Boing Plane. It is scheduled to start at 2:15 Pm and arrive at Lijing at 7:15 pm. On the way, we'll have a stopover at Kunming.Today is the last day for the spring festival. So we find lots of holiday-makers in the airport. Tomorrow most of them have to go to work and begin their routine life. My colleague Yuhong is accompanying me for the whole trip Lijiang is one of my favorites. But I have never been there before. So going to Lijiang is kinda adventure for me. I love go to some new and strange places, whick will make you exciting and interested. I love something new. "New" is most important both in our work and life. Always trying to be new is my motto. Keeping the old and useful tradition while creating the new things is the key to the success both of our work and life. My image of Lijang in my mind is quite simple: ancient town, plain people, featuring pubs and romatic visitors. We are attending a network meeting sponsored by Taiwan Cola Tours, a big travel agency located in Taibei. Totally 20 managers from the company will be present at the meeting. As an tour operator sending many tourists from Taiwan to China mainland, it has many local operators in mainland China. Our Beijing Xinhua Tours is among it list of land suppliers in mainlan China. Each year they will organize the meeting a kind of networking and business co-operation for the new year. Taiwan Cola Tours is a company with vision. Co-operation with the company is more than economic, it's a branding and spiritual. We at last land at Lijiang Airport at 7:15pm. To my surprise, the airport is about 30km away from our hotel--Treasure Harbour International Hotel, a deluxe 5 star hotel. We take a taxi. The taxi driver is a man of a few words. We expect him to give us some message about Lijiang. But he is a letdown. It costs us RMB 90 for the taxi fee. The dinner has started. We join them and hace had a good time. Tomorrow is the whole day meeting. |
