My business trip to Lijiang and Chengdu ( 3 )
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as my backdrop! Today is for post-business day tour of Lijiang. The city of Lijiang has the sea-level of about 2400 meters. We start at 9:00am. On the way, our coach stops at the store for us to buy warm clothes and bottled oxygen. I buy a bottle of oxygen just in case. We are supposed to get the point with a sea-level of 4506 meters, where the air is thin. It is an half hour's drive to the famous mountain, about 14 km from the downtown Lijiang. The Jade Dragong Mountain is the one of the wamest snow mountains in the world. It has four seasons for a day. It is also one of the snow mountians closest to the living place. There are three cable-car stations on the mountain. We take the higest one called Dasuodao ( Big Cable Car Station ). This station is located on the mountain at the sea-level of 3356. Our bus takes us to the Dasuodao. There we wait for a few minutes, then take a cable car up to the mountain. The cable-car is big enough to hold 6 persons. The cable is over 2000 meters long.Today there is some heavy cloud over the mountain. The view is fantastic! Everywhere is white snow and pine trees in various kinds of shapes. On the half way to the 4506 point, we are melting into the whilte cloud. At last we get to the 4506 point. It's a pity that it is snowing heavily! We cannot see far with so much white snow and whitel cloud. It is about 8 degree colder than the downtown city. We go closer to the Monument with the words" 4506" and take a picture there for the important moment. Then we take some hot milk tea at a coffer shop nearby. Two of our team have some negative effects of high mountains. They have to take deeply the oxygen. I give my oxygen to my roommate-Mr. Chang Dejun. He has some breath difficulty. I'm ok! The tour guide says the sea level of Lhasa is 3800 meters. So if somebody can get to the 4506-meter mounain, then he or she will be all right when travel to Lhasa. We take the cable-car down and connect the bus to another nice Atrraction--Jade Water Viilage. The Jade Water Village is AAAA scenic spot. It used to be the inhabitant area for Naxi people. We visit some of the traditional houses used by Naxi people. We also enjoy the Naxi music at the musci hall in the village. The Jade Water Village is also for its natural beauty! After visiting the village, we go to the ancient village--Shuhe Old Town ( Tea & Horse Station ). We have had a nice lunch there. After lunch, we have a walk around the village. people in the village are quite carefree, ejoying life. After the tour, we have a fam tour of a luxury hotel in Lijiang: Banyan Tree Lijiang, a world leading hotel. It has two kinds of rooms: Garden and Villa. The garden room costs USD 500 per night and villa room costs USD 1000. He mentions that most of the western tourists will also go to Baisha village to see the 2000--year murals. Tiger Leaping Gorge is about 4 hours' driving from Lijiang. Dali is to the east of Lijiang, about 2 hours' driveing. The rest of the time is for the free tour of the ancient town of Lijiang. Tired, i prefer to stay at hotel. |
