| According to the latest statistic issued by the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Bureau, for the first seven months of 2008, the numbers of inbound tourists in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai decreased — visitors to these cities account for over 70% of Guangdong's travel market.
All three cities showed a double-digit decrease in the number of inbound tourists in July, a traditional peak season, Guangzhou with 13.56%, Shenzhen with 30.27% and Zhuhai with 9.53%. This July, the number of inbound tourists in Guangdong province overall decreased by 14.33%. The number of inbound tourists handled by the travel agencies in the province went down by 14%, while the numbers for outbound tours and travel outside the province also decreased.
