Chengde is located north of Beijing, 250 km away by road. It was included in the UNESCO world heritage list in 1994. Its palace -summer resort, in the northern part of Chengde City, was where Qing emperors spent their summer day. The construction of the palace began in 1703, just the 42nd year of the reign of Qing Emperor Kangxi. It was completed in 1792, the 57th year of the reign of Qing Emperor Qianlong. It is the largest royal resort in China.

In the past it took about one month for the emperor to reach Chengde from Beijing by horse. Now you can get to Chende and back to Beijing just in one day!! With the Beijing-Chengde Highway being completed, one day round trip to Chengde is possible.We will arrange a private car or van with our professional tour guide for your personal use. Starting from your hotel around 6:30am. The one way drive from Beijing to Chengde takes about 3 and half hours along Beijing-Chengde Highway. Tour such sites as the Mountain Resort,the Potala Palace and Puning Temple. Lunch included. Reurn to Beijing on the same day.
