Beijing weekend Trip to Luoyang to visit both Shaolin Temple and Longmen Grottoes. Shaolin Temple is famous not only as one of China's most important Buddhist temples, but also as the center of Chinese kung-fu. Along the one kilometer long cliff of Mt. Longmen of Luoyang totally there are 1,352 caves, 785 niches, over 97,000 statues and 3,680 inscribed stone tablets. On November 30, 2000, the Longmen Grottoes were approved by the 24th UN Heritage Commission to be put on the List of World Cultural Heritage.
Tour Itinerary?
Day 01? Beijing - Luoyang by K69 ( 21:10 starting from Beijing West Train Station)
Pick you up from your hotel in Beijing and transferred to Beijing West Train Station and take the overnight soft sleeper train for Luoyang.
Day 02? Arrival at Luoyang
Arrival in Luoyang at 8:20am. Met and transferred to a nice hotel for a simple breakast. After breakfast, take one and half hours' drive to Shaolin Temple about 80 km away from Luoyang city. Shaolin Temple is the birthplace of Chan Buddism-cradle of Shaolin Kongfu. In the temple you will have the chance to enjoy the real Kung fu performace by the monks. After lunch, drive back to Luoyang and visit the famous Longmen Grottoes - one of the three largest grottoes in China. After dinner,transferred to the Luoyang Train Station and take overnight train No.K270 ( starting at 19:00 ) for Beijing.
Day 03: Arrival at Beijing
Arrival at Beijing at 6:00 am. You are free to return to your hotel in Beijing or explore the city on your own.
