Daniel Li,
I am writing to you to thank you very much for our wonderful trip to Xian. The tour that you organised was fantastic. Sorry for the delay in feedback. I thank you for all your prompt and quick replies to our needs and desires for the tour that we took on Feb 10, 2008. You are very professional and provided what we had requested. I enjoyed my tour of Xian - from start to finish. It was most comforting to have my tour guide meet me at the airport. Your tour guide - Ms Mary Ma is exceptional in both her English and her knowledge of her subject. She is to be congratulated.
I have no hesitation in recommending your company to other travellers.
Thank you once again.
Kind regards
Janet Hawke

If you have a visit to Xi’an, Shuyuan Gate is a must-see highlight. Here you will taste the most truthful Xi’an life and perceive the refulgence view of a parting regnal back.
Shuyuan, the Chinese mean is Academy of Classical Learning. Located on the eastern side of South Gate, Shuyuan Gate is a cultural street factually restored in the style of the ancient architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasties with a length of 570 meters (623 yards) and a width of 10 meters (11 yards). Guangzhong Shuyuan, one of the leading academies in ancient China and the highest institution of Shaanxi Province in Ming and Qing Dynast, was established here, so Shuyuan Gate won its name now.
Entering the torii of the Shuyuan Gate on the east side of road, a green flagstone street extends and you will see a 2-story stores in ancient style along both sides and smell the aroma of Chinese ink. As far as the stalls are concerned, Xun is a especial merchandise must to be refered. Xun is an original musical instrument in the ancient China. It was excavated in the Banpo Site 6,000 years ago. Rambling down the Shuyuan Gate, you may hear the sounds of the Xun and the bamboo flute played by storekeepers now and again to drum up trade, which is not quite a melody but more the symbol of Xi’an.
These stores mostly deal in the four treasures of study, curios, jade, gold and sliver ornaments, calligraphies and paintings of celebrities, copybooks and handcrafted keepsakes. There are authentic works by some famed artists, such as Liuwenxi, the artist who drew the images in the RMB 100 note.
Shadow play figures, paper-cuts and face painting are typical folk handcrafts of Xi’an that are appealing to tourists. Shadow play figures are made of animal skin, used for shadow play shows in ancient. The technique of making it is so difficult that fewer and fewer are for sales.
