Beijing Aquarium
Billed as 'the world's largest inland aquarium', attracted plenty of opposition from local environmental groups when it opened in 1999, and the logic of keeping countless marine animals so far from the sea is questionable. this huge structure gives a close-up view at the teeming life of the world's rivers and oceans. The porpoise performance and fish feeding times in the big tank are not to be missed.
Admission: RMB 100, students RMB 60, people over 60 years RMB 60. Two children under 1.2 m admitted free with each adult. Aquarium tickets include admission to the zoo.
Hours: 9:30-17:00 (18:00 on Sat. and Sun.) Ticket sales finish at 16:00.
