Cheng Yanqiu’s Former Home
It is located at 39 Xisi Beisantiao in Xicheng District, in a street originally named Baozi Hutong. The house has two south-facing courtyards and is now public housing and on Beijing’s list of protected sites.
Cheng Yanqiu, originally named Cheng Lin, was a famous Peking opera actor Regarded as the second greatest of the four great Peking opera performers of the female dan role, he shaped his own style and gave birth to the Cheng School.
