Tian Han’s Former Home
Located at 9 Xiguan Hutong in Dongsi Beidajie in Dongcheng District, this has two courtyards and is now public housing on Beijng’s list of protected sites.
Tian Han (1898-1968), originally called Tian Shouchang, was a famous dramatist from Changsha in Hunan Province. He wrote the lyrics to the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China and produced dramas such as Chen Yuanyuna, Liren Xing and Prince Wencheng. After the People’s Republic of China was founded, he was appointed president of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
