Beijing Yuyuantan Park
Yuyuantan Park, as one of the 11 great Parks in Beijing, is nearby the China Millennium Monument, in Haidian District. It is covered an area of 136 hectares and water surface extends more than an area of 61 hectares. It is 1,820 meters wide from east to west and 1,106 meters long from north to south. The whole park is divided to several parts, including Cherry Garden, Liuchun Garden, Zhongshan Island and Old Pine Forest.
Yuyuantan Park is noted for its fascinating cherry blossoms. The park is home to over 3,000 cherry trees which sent from Japan and other parts of China. From mid or late April to May every year, the Festival of Cherry Blossoms is held in Yuyuantan, which draw thousands of visitors to enjoy the beautiful landscape. Other blossoming trees such as peach are also to be found, as well as tulip flowers.
