Biyun Temple
Situated at the eastern foot of the Fragrant Hill, the temple was originally the private mansion of a Yuan Dynasty official. In 1289, it became Biyun Nunnery. It was expanded twice, in 1516 and 1623, respectively, by the court eunuchs Yu Jing and Wei Zhognxian, and its name was changed first to Yugong Temple and then Buyun Temple.
The central part of the temple embraces five halls, standing one above the other on over 100 m of the mountain slope. At the highest point behind the temple is Diamond Throne Pagoda built in 1748, and on the southern side of the temple is a hall for the worship of the arhats, also built in 1748. on the northern side of the temple are Shuiquan compound and Bihan Zhai Studio.
