I had a wonderful trip
Hi Aida, I highly recommend Tour-Beijing. We visited China in Oct 05, 2004 just before Thanksgiving and had a wonderful trip. I arranged an itinerary with them before leaving and made final adjustments once we were there. They were prompt, courteous, professional and very accommodating with our 'customized' itinerary. I purchased a package deal with hotel and air that didn't include daily tours and decided to find a local tour agency. I found Tour-Beijing on the web using google. As it was my second trip to Beijing I wanted the flexibility to re-visit some of the main sights but I also wanted tour service that would provide me the opportunity to discover more of beijing off the main tourist path. They level of service was excellent, and I felt very comfortable knowing I could depend on them with making and providing all of our travel arrangements.
I contacted Tour-Beijing directly via email and sent them my travel dates and a rough itinerary. After visiting their web sight I modified some of the details to include a weekend trip to Chufu and Mnt Taishan (for me this was the highlight of the trip). If this is your first trip to Beijing I'd reccommend starting with a private tour guide following on a city tour. They offer group city tours but having your own tour guide makes a world of difference. Main attractions visited on the city tour are Tianamen Square, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, and Temple of Heaven. The second tour I reccommend is a group tour to The Great Wall and the Ming Tombs, ask before and make sure they take you to the Badaling section which has more tourists for a reason. In addition I'd reccomend a tour of the Hutangs (traditional neighborhoods), and some of the lesser visited sights including the White Pagoda or Mongal Temple and definitely the Llama Temple, and if you have time the 5 Pagoda Temple where they house the ancient stone carving museum. As for evening entertainment definitely plan on visiting the Peking Opera, Chinese acrobats and Peking Duck dinner. We had enough time to spend a weekend in the country and opted to take the overnight train to Chufu and Mnt Taishan, this was the best part of our trip. If you go you must ask for Hope as your tour guide (Ma Jun in chinese), as she is a remarkable young lady, well informed, courteous and very professional. While in Beijing Daniel helped us with all of our arrangements and did an excellent job.
I hope this information helps. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a msg.
Sincerely,
Joe Fortier

What a wonderful time I had on this tour!
WOW! What a wonderful time I had on this tour! Everything was exactly as promised. Your agent picked me up promptly at the hotel and made sure I found my exact berth on the train before he left. He also explained to the others in my cabin who I was and where I was going. Then on my arrival in Tai'an right as I stepped off the train there was the guide waiting for me. She took me to the lovely hotel where I had a chance to rest before we went to Qufu. I had my own guide and my own driver--I felt like a real "big shot"! She was very helpful and explained things very well. Our driver was excellent and managed the crazy traffic quite well. At our first meal the guide asked me what I liked and then magically a plate of it would appear. In fact, my only complaint was that there was simply too much food--and it was too good to refuse! I bet I gained 5 pounds just in those two days!! The sightseeing was amazing and I felt like I really experienced China. In fact, from the time I left the hotel in Beijing until the time I returned, I only saw 3 non-Chinese--and they were both at the hotel. The return trip was equally nice and I was met and returned to my hotel in Beijing by the helpful Beijing agent. All-in-all a great time--and an amazing deal for the price! I kept track of what the train tickets, the hotel, and the entrances cost and I probably could not have done this trip more cheaply on my own--and as I said, I had my very own guide and driver! WOW! Thank you so much. I am planning on returning to China in 2006 and I will certainly look to see if I can add another of your wonderful excursions to my itinerary.

Dear Ring,
We have been home for a month now, and it has been about 6 weeks since we left Beijing. I just want to thank-you for all of your help in arranging a perfect week in Beijing. We feel so fortunate to have had Eva & Mr. Mo as our guide and driver. Eva was wonderful. Her English is very good as is her knowledge. We felt so safe with her and never worried. They were always there on time and took very good care of us. Driving in Beijing is very different from America, but we felt completely safe with Mr. Mo. They were completely flexible with Jim and his picture taking. He takes many pictures to show his students, especially out in the country, and they were very nice to stop whenever he asked.
The trip to Xian was also great. Mr. Mo was there in the morning to take us to the airport, & I will admit we were a little worried about whether or not he understood when to pick us up and what flight we would be on, but as soon as we entered the airport, there he was! It was so good to see him. The guide & driver in Xian were also very good.
The Great Wall was the highlight for us. What a wonderful time we had there.
And then there was the drive to the port. There had been an accident on the highway, and traffic was stopped, but Mr. Mo was able to take other roads and got us there right on time. It was so nice, because many of the passengers on the ship sat in buses for several hours waiting for the traffic to move.
We had a perfect time thanks to all of your help and to Eva & Mr. Mo. I don't know if we will ever be able to return to Beijing any time soon, but if we do, we will definitely use Beijing Xinhua Tours again.
Thank-you again for everything!
Debbi (& Jim) Davis

To whom it may concern,
Yesterday I arranged a trip for my guests in Beijing to go to the Great Wall. Unfortunately, one of my guests had an injured leg, and could not go for a whole day after all, and I had to cancel the trip again. I usually do not write back with feedback, but the support and service was of an outmost professional level, and I therefore believe that giving feedback for this, is my pleasure. My contact person's name was Wendy. Wendy was extremely helpful - giving good advice and coming up with ideas of alternative trips for my guests. I have stayed in Beijing for more than 2 years now, and helped guests on trips around Beijing many times, but unfortunately not with etours before. I have never experienced such a level of help and support before, and will assure you, that from now on, I will definitely only use etours for all my guests, and tell all other foreigners about this excellent service. I can't wait to actually send people with Etours, and see if the service is the same all the way through.
A big thanks to Wendy for a excellent support, that was beyond my expectations

Dear Reina,
We have been back in Brussels for a bit over a week, are over our jetlag and have settled again into our normal life. We want, as for last year's tour, once again express our sincere appreciation for the most excellent organisation of our tour by you and your company. We were equally impressed by the efficiency of the various local agencies, which had been dealing with our programme on your behalf.
We had a most enjoyable roundtrip through some of China's most beautiful regions, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guangxi, which in addition to superb landscapes offer the attraction of colourfully dressed Minority people. The Yunnan part of our trip ended in Shangri-la (Zhongdian), a beautiful place, where we were able to assist at the festivities of the Dragon Boat Festival, which were celebrated with three days of horse races - very interesting and very colourful. Before that, we had of course been on the Yangtze Cruise and enjoyed the sights of the Three Gorges. Unfortunately, the weather was not always on our side. In Yunnan, we had our share of rain over three to four days.
All the hotels chosen by you, plus the one we choose ourselves for Shangri-la, were impeccable. All the flight bookings had been made, as had been, where necessary, advance bookings for the various shows on our programme (we found them all of a very high standard). And we very much enjoyed all the delicious, fresh and healthy Chinese meals throughout our trip.
Guides: We had very good ones and less good ones. We had two really excellent guides in Wuhan (Steven) and at the end of our trip in Guilin (Sharon). Both were highly knowledgeable and spoke an absolutely flawless English. Some of the other guides found it more difficult: although they knew very well the sites they had to explain to us tourists, their English was not always easily comprehensible. So there we had also to rely on our guide books. But all were most kind, flexible, available and caring.
There was just one major disappointment for us on our trip: on our programme, we had foreseen a full day at Chongqing, mainly in order to be able to visit the new, much publicised, Three Gorges Museum. As it were, the guide took us in Chongqing to an exhibition hall displaying a 15 m painting of the Three Gorges area. There we were told, that the Three Gorges Museum did not exist in Chongqing, but that such a museum existed in Yichang. By coincidence, while walking around on our own, we discovered (unfortunately after closing hours) that there is indeed the splendid new Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing, situated next to the most interesting part of town (right on a main central square), which the guide had left out in our City Tour. We were obviously not very happy, the more so since we had had ample time left in the afternoon to visit the museum, had the guide (a resident of Chongqing !) told us of its existence. But this was the one and only disappointment we experienced during our trip.
Although we have no immediate plans for a third trip to your country, we will most certainly come back, to see once more Beijing or other regions which we have not yet visited. And then we shall once more call on your company to organize our trip.
With our thanks, we remain, with best regards,
Janet & Kurt Eggert, Brussels, Belgium
