Day By Day Itinerary
Day 01
Arrival in Beijing
Arrival in Beijing, met and transferred to your hotel in Beijing. In the afternoon, visit Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest. You are at your leisure to take a good rest or explore the city for the remainer of the day.

Day 02
Beijing
Starting the day with a visit to Tiananmen Square, the world largest square of this kind. You will be given the details of all the buildings in and around the square including Mao's mausaleum, the National Museum, the Parliament Building. Then go through an underground tunnel to the imperial palace, also known as the "Forbidden City", the complex of imperial palace, which was home to the Emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties for over 500 years.
Today you have a la carte lunch with an a la carte menu at a nice local Cantonese restaurant, where you could enjoy the authentic Chinese food. After lunch, continue to visit Summer Palace, the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. It is regarded as a museum of gardens in China. Then visit a Tea market where you can taste the famous Chinese tea and see Chinese tea ceremony in a big Chinese tea market and buy the local Chinese teas.
Tonight you are arranged to see the Kung Fu Show at Red Theatre (middle Seating Area). This is a great show. It tells a story of Chin Yu entering the monastery and making his way through life to finally becoming the Abbott. There are many demonstrations of Kungfu and strength throughout the show. The costumes and the choreography are great. Unfortunately people are not allowed to take photos nor video it. You can however purchase a DVD of the show. The show lasts about one hour and 15 minutes. After the show, transferred back to your hotel.

Day 03
Beijing
After breakfast, you are picked up at your hotel around 8:00am. Drive to the Ming Tombs ( Dingling, one of the 13 Ming Dynasty Tombs complex ). From the Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in this area. You will visit Dingling, the tomb of the Wanli Emperor, which is the only one of the Ming Dynasty Tombs to have been excavated. Visited the Jade Factory where they explained the difference types of jade and how jade can be carved in a great variety of shapes.
After Chinese lunch, head to Mutainyu Great Wall to start your highlight of your Beijing tour, hiking the Great Wall of China, a massive military defense works which was left from the Ming dynasty. It is a very spectacular view. You will take lots of pictures. Back to your hotel.

Day 04
Beijing Xian by Highspeed train
Pick up from your hotel in Beijing around 6:00am and take early morning high-speed train No.651 starting from Beijing West Railway Station at 7:05am for Xian. Arriving at Xian North Railway Station at 12:48, met and transferred to a local restaurant for Chinese lunch.
After lunch, visit The Great Mosque, the biggest and most preserved complete Chinese existent mosque. First built at the Tianbao first year (742 years) during Tang Dynasty, it was rebuilt by Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing, and has formed present scales. The whole mosque has more than 12,000 square meters, the floor space more than 4,000 square meters, keeps the construction mostly in the Ming Dynasty styel. So the Mosque here in Xi'an has much Chinese traditional touch in both its design and artistic outlook.
Then visit the City Wall. The main magnet of Xian is the city wall, which is the most complete city wall that has survived in China, one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Stay overnight in Xian.

Day 05
Xian
After breakfast, visit the Terra-cotta Warriors. The original site was found by a local farmer drilling a well in 1974. Now it has turned into the most important attraction in Xian - Terracotta Warriors and Horse Museum. It is located about 30km east of the Xian City. The museum includes Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3 as well the exhibition hall of the chariots and horses. The Pit 1 is the largest of the three. The museum and the mausoleum are listed as UNESCO world's cultural heritage. .
Today you have a la carte lunch with an a la carte menu at a nice local restaurant, where you could enjoy the authentic Chinese food. After Chinese lunch, first visit Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, a large modern museum of the national level. It is a giant architectural complex in the Tang-dynasty style. It occupies an area of 70,000 square metres, and the construction area being more than 50,000 square metres. It focuses on the highlights of the Shaanxi culture and depicts the development of the Chinese civilization.
Then move on to Big Goose Pagoda for a visit. Big Goose Pagoda is one of the oldest structures in China, originally built in 589 in the Sui Dynasty. The Big Goose Pagoda is situated in the Da Ci'en Temple, four kilometers south away from the center of the city. It is one of the city's most distinctive and outstanding landmarks, possibly the most beautiful building left in Xian today.

Day 06
Xian Lhasa
After breakfast, transferred to Xian Railway Station and take T264/T265 ( 10:09 - next day 19:20 ) for Lhasa. So you are in the daytime during the journey of Xian - Lanzhou - Xining. But the Xining to Golmud part of the train journey is mostly in the dark, hence only worth if one wishes to experience sleeping in a train (4-bed cabin).

Day 07
Lhasa
You are in the daytime during the journey from Golmud to Lhasa. Golmud-Lhasa section of the railway is above 4000m above sea level, reaching the highest point at 5,072m above sea level. Highlights of the trip includes snow-capped mountain peaks, the beautiful Conag (or Tsonag) Lake, and in the very high elevation sections of the railway, snow-covered landscapes. There are long stretches of barren land. There are also rivers (the largest was Tuo Tuo River, which is the upper reaches of Yangtze River).
Arrival at Lhasa at 19:20 and transferred to your hotel in Lhasa. Free for the rest of the day to acclimate to the climate and altitude.

Day 08
Lhasa
Today's sightseeing: The Potala Palace, The Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street
- Potala Palace: Potala Palace is perched on the 130m-high Marpo Ri ( Red Hill ) with 13 storeys and more than 1000roms in the middle of Beijing Road, the heart of Lhasa City.
- Jokhang Temple: The 1300-year-old Jokhang Temple is now the spiritual center of Tibet. From earliest dawn to last light, daily worshippers and once-in-a-lifetime pilgrims make the inner circumambulation (kora) of the Jokhang to earn religious merit.
- Barkhor Street: The Barkhor is the oldest street in Lhasa as well as the center of old Lhasa and remains very traditional.

Day 09
Lhasa
Today's Sightseeing: Norbulingka, Tibet Museum, The Carpet Factory, Sera Monastery
- Norbulingka Park: It once served as the summer palace for dalai lamas from 7th Dalai Lama who first built the palace.
- Tibet Museum: Tibet Museum has three exhibition floors. It has abundant historical relics and treasures including prehistoric culture, united culture, culture and art, customs.
- Sera Monastery: Located 5km north of Lhasa, this monastery was the first Gelugpa monastery in Lhasa and has remained the main seat of this major Buddhist order ever since.

Day 10
Lhasa Chengdu (overnight on train)
After breakfast, you are free till your transfer to Lhasa Train Station and take train T21/T24 ( 10:0 - 08:13 on the third day ) for Chengdu. Overnight on train.

You are free on the train from Lhasa to Chengdu enjoying the coutryside views passing by.

Day 12
Chengdu Leshan Giant Buddha Chengdu
Arrival at Chengdu at 08:13am, met by our tour guide and head to the Leshan Giant Buddha. It is approximately 160km in the southwest of Chengdu. After Chinese lunch, you are taken to Leshan Port and board a boat cruising near the highest Buddha in the world on the huge rock of the hill carved in Tang Dynasty for surpressing the flood. Transferred back to your hotel in Chengdu. Free for the rest of the time.

Day 13
Chengdu Shanghai (overnight on train)
After breakfast at your hotel, head to Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Centre, 10 km north of Chengdu city center. The Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center has been constructed and imitated the pandas' natural habitat in the hope that they could have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. There you can see pandas almost in their natural environment as they have plenty of space around them. They are incredibly cute to watch. They spend most of their day eating bamboo.
After lunch, continue to visit Wenshu Monastery. Wenshu Monastery is the best-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu, and also serves now as the home of the Buddhist Association of both Sichuan Province and Chengdu City. Cultural relics are the highlights of Wenshun Monastery.
Then move on to Kuanzhai Alley. Kuanzhai Alley literally means "Wide and Narrow Alleys" (Kuan Zhai Xiang Zi). Here they particularly referred to the two famous lanes in Chengdu – Kuan Alley (wide lane) and Zhai Ally ( narrow Lane). Both Kuan Alley and Zhai Alley (Kuan Zhai Xiang Zi) are the gentrified ancient alleys from Qing Dynasty ( 1644 -1911 ) in Chengdu.
Transferred to Changdu Railway Station and take Train Z124/Z121 (17:50 - 13:29 next day) for Shanghai.

Day 14
Shanghai
Arrival in Shanghai at 13:29, met by our tour guide and then visit Yu yuan Garden. Yuyuan is the famous gardens in Shanghai where you will see how a large beautiful garden was made by a rich rice merchant 400 years ago. Adjoining these gardens is an old shopping area with narrow streets and buildings that were of a typically old Chinese style. There are many small streets and lanes where vendors sell their products and food stuffs to the tourists and local people. Shopping at a local silk store.
Then visit the new development zone in Pudong - Lujiazui, which is teeming with the futuristic, avant-garde buildings - Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Building, Bank of China Tower. Taking the elevator to the 88-storey Observation Deck of Jinmao Tower where you will have a spectacular view of the whole city.

Day 15
Shanghai
First visit Shanghai Museum, the selection of over 112,000 Chinese cultural relics from the Old Stone Age to modern times. You will be amazed to see the pottery that is over 10,000 years old. You have to go quickly though all the 4 floors. Then proceed to visit the pedestrians only Nanjing Pedestrian Road, a walking bustling street that is always packed with people watching other people. Then move on to the Bund, one of the most noted waterfront and architectural symbols of Shanghai. Then visit a Silk Factory, where you can bargain for silk products and China's traditional silk arts.
Today you have a la carte lunch with an a la carte menu at a nice local restaurant, where you could enjoy the authentic Chinese food. After lunch, take one hour cruising on Huang Pu River. You start with the Hangpu River Cruise that will take you along the skyscrapers on the new area known as Pudong. Then you ruise to the west side of the river that has many skyscrapers and the famous Bund that has a row of the early 20th century buildings near the river. Back to your hotel.

Day 16
Exit From Shanghai
Transfer to airport for departure or free on your own and end your pleasant China trip.
