My First Encounter with Golden Jaguar in Beijing
Jaguar is an important member of the world of wild cats. The Jaguar's name comes from Ancient Indian term "yaguara" meaning "a beast that kills with one pounce". Its Scientific Name: Panthera onca. Jaguars are the largest cats in the Western Hemisphere. Now they live mainly in Mexico, Central and South America. The Jaguar is a beautiful animal! It is sometimes called Golden Jaguar due to its golden fur. Jaguars survive as top predators and prime hunters in nature's tightly woven web of balance to complete the circle of life. Last Thursday ( Aug 23, 2007), I met a huge Golden Jaguar in the center of Beijing - Second floor, Century Tower, Dong'anmen Dajie, Dongcheng District.
"Golden Jaguar" is referred to a huge buffet restaurant chain in Beijing. I went to the Golden Jaguar at Wangfujing Area. I had heard a lot about the restaurat. But it was first time for me to go there. I had booked a special open room for a party of four. Two of my friends in Hangzhou came to Beijing seeing her daughter off who had enrolled at Tsinghua University! As a kind of congratulation, we went there to celebrate their daughter for having been admitted into the famous univerity. There was a huge number of diners looking for huge kinds of food in a huge outlet of some 6000 square meters for an open table. Golden Jaguar is a buffet restaurant, providing various food ranging from Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, to French and Italian foods; from roast duck to Haagen-Dazs ice-cream; from fresh fruit and vegetables to shark's fin and abalone soups. In addition, all prices are fixed: daytime RMB 180 Per person; 5pm to 8PM the price jumps to RMB 210. After 8:00pm, the price falls to RMB 180. A live band at the entrance adds much color to Golden Jaguar dining. What's intriguing is the open kitchen and the on the spot cooking! The huge Jaguar is now back to the city to grab people's money! I love the giant " Golden Jaguar" for its gorgeous food. I also hate it due to its possibility of adding more weight to my fattening body.
