We operate two itineraries for hiking Simatai Great Wall as follows: One-day Hiking Tour Tour Itinerary : Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in the early morning. Get to the site before 10 o'clock. Hiking for 3 to 4 hours. Have lunch at a local restaurant.After the late lunch, get back to the hotel downtown. Two-day Hiking Tour Day one: This program includes the 4-5 hour's hike from Jinshanling Great Wall to Simatai Great Wall for about 20 KM .Depart from your hotel in Beijing for the Great Wall in the morning at about 7:00 am and get to the Jinshanling Great Wall at around 10:00 am,. taking box-meals. The hike from Jinshanling Great Wall to the west section of Simatai Great wall takes about 4 hours. Get down the hill at the foot of Simatai at about 2 :00PM and Check-in at a local inn--Great wall Hotel ( well located with a reservoir nearby). Take a bath and have some relaxation. Enjoy a local dinner. Day Two: Second day hiking the east section of Simatai Great Wall for 2--3 hours in the morning.There are in total sixteen watchtowers built at intervals along this space and it will take about two hours to reach the twelfth watchtower. Beyond this stage the condition of the stairs and walkways is poor and the passage becomes both steep and narrow which means that it is often safer to use the adjacent footpath rather than try to walk on the Wall itself. A lack of firm footholds creates quite a struggle and in places it may prove necessary to go on all fours in order to make any progress.
