We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

旅交会在经济寒冬中爆棚
 
新华网上海频道11月21日消息:亚洲最大规模旅游交易会———2008中国国际旅游交易会昨天正式开门迎客。热情的毛里求斯舞蹈,西域神秘的土耳其风情,伦敦标志性交通工具黑色出租车……世界旅游商济济一堂,上海新国际博览中心成为天下风情的“大观园”。

  来自组委会的统计显示,本次旅交会的展出规模创下历届之最:展位2648个,比上届增加21%;展商4112家,比上届增长6%;参展国家与地区106个,比上届增加了15%;出席旅交会的海外副部长及以上贵宾多达30余名。在世界金融危机蔓延、经济逐渐衰退的形势下,为何仍有那么多海外展商前来参展?展商们说:“因为我们看好中国客源市场!”

  展会现场,美国展团的阵容“超级豪华”,展商人数达250多人,拥有120多个展位,参展的包括美国旅游协会、各州旅游局和旅游企业。在美国南方旅游联盟的展位上,笔者看到,旅游地区的特色旅游都被一一呈现,如去西弗吉尼亚滑雪,去阿拉巴马州看美国独立战争前的建筑景观,到美国蓝调音乐诞生地密西比亚体会九日美国南方的人文景观等,使人很有身临其境之感。密歇根州是第一次来华参加旅交会,密歇根旅游局局长乔治·齐默尔曼表示,正是中国广阔的市场吸引了他们。“未来5年内,中国有望成为世界第4大旅游客源国。通过参加这次旅交会,我们希望2009年能有5000到10000人去密歇根州旅游。”

  英国旅游局此次率领17家旅游机构参展旅交会,其中除了国家性和地区性旅游推广局外,还包括城市和景点的旅游推广机构,以及地接社和航空公司的代表。英国旅游局海外市场运营总监表示:“中国一直是英国最重视的新兴市场之一。每年英国旅游业在中国市场的投入都在增长。在当前世界金融危机的大环境下,英国旅游业对中国市场的关注和投入依然不变。”

  日本展区被美丽的樱花所簇拥。与其他展商不同,日本展商不仅希望吸引中国游客前往日本旅游,还希望开发中国高端旅游市场。作为最大的旅行社,日本JTB已在中国开出了三家独资、合资旅行社。在JTB展台前,琳琅满目的宣传资料上很多都是中国旅游的产品。JTB中国事业开发部部长刘厚彬告诉笔者,JTB瞄准的是家庭年收入20万以上的中国消费者,这些消费者中很多都把旅游变成了常规需求,对他们而言,每年的旅游度假不会受经济衰退的影响。笔者看到,JTB专门为中国消费者设计了两人成团、“管家式服务”的超小团队游线路。这些线路虽然比常规线路的价格贵了50%,但问询者依然络绎不绝。
