Ancestral Temple for Wen Tianxiang

The ancestral temple is situated at No.63 Fuxue Hutong, Dongchen District, Beijing. It was built in memory of Wen Tianxiang, a hero in South Song Dynasty who fought bravely against the enemies of Yuan Empire. Based on the place where Wen Tianxiang was imprisoned, the temple has preserved the architectural style of Ming Dynasty.

Inside the hall, there is a folding screen, on which Mao Zedong wrote the famous poem which goes to such an extent: No one will be spared by death, but brave heart remains to serve the country. On the back of the screen, there is the full version of Wen Tianxiang's poem entitled Laud to Moral Spirit.
