Beijing Eunuch Cultural Museum
Located west on Monshikou Avenue in Shijingshan District, the Beijing Eunuch Cultural Museum is at the cemetery of Tian Yi, a powerful Ming-dynasty eunuch in charge of the royal seall.
Built in 1605, the cemetery faces south and consists of the Virtue Display Hall, the Longevity Section, and the Convent of Compassion.
Encircled by a stone wall, the ceremony occupies 6,000 square meter and contains five tombs of Tian Yi and other eunuchs. Constructed mainly with stone carvings and sculptures, the ceremony is known for its high standards, exquisite carving and rich content.
Large and completely preserved, it remains the only top-level eunuch cemetery in the country. Also, it is the only museum in China today specializing in eunuch culture.
