Covering an area of 37,930 sq.m., the China Film Museum is the largest museum in the world dedicated to motion pictures. it was opened to the public on February 10,2007.The museum houses a total of 20 exhibition halls. The permanent exhibitions held in the museum display more than 1,500 films, 4,300 photographs, as well as textual introductions to over 450 film industry workers.
The museum is equipped with an IMAX theatre, a digital theatre, and three 35mm film projection rooms. The IMAX theatre is distinctive, possessing the best imaging system in the world, the largest screen in Asia, an a state-of –the-art6-track sound system. It has gained praise for taking audiences through “the ultimate experience in film viewing.”
