The term “hundred kinds of crafts” originated in the official book On Crafts, written in the Qi Kingdom during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period (770-221BC). Each dynasty, Yuan, Ming or Qing, had its own governmental department to manage the production of art and craft for the royal palace.This imperial of the time as “Hundred Kinds of Crafts” is where the production, display and sale of traditional Chinese handicrafts are gathered in one locale.
