The Palace Museum
Also known the forbidden city, the Palace Museum is situated in the former imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Constructed between 1407 and 1420, the imperial palace occupies 72 hectares and has more than 9,000 halls and chambers, which is presently the largest and the best-preserved palace complex in the world.24 emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties had once live here. In 1914, the “Institute for Antiques Exhibition” was established here and it was renamed the “Forbidden City Museum” in 1925.
the Palace Museum displays more than 900,00 items of historical treasures and place artifacts of various categories, including ceramics, treasures, clocks, paintings, bronze, jade objects, and Ming and Qing aircrafts.
