Tour Description
The Chinese Lunar New Year comes to an end when the Festival of Lanterns sets in. Each lantern festival finds lantern shows and folk dance everywhere. One special food for the festival is the Tang Yuan, another kind of dumplings made of sweet rice rolled into balls (glutinous rice ball) and stuffed with either sweet or different fillings. The round shape symbolizes wholeness and unity.

The Lantern day festivities also include the Lantern Riddle game with people trying to guess the answers to the mysterious riddles stuck on the lanterns. After the lantern festival, life is back to the daily routines once again.

14:30-16:00: Visit a local family, preparing for the coming of Lantern Festival marking the end of the New Year season
16:00-18:30: Join the family preparing the lantern festival dinner, making glutinous rice ball - the Tang Yuan symbolizing wholeness and unity
18:30-19:30: Enjoy the dinner with the family
19:30-20:30: Learn to play Mahjong and watch CCTV gala show
20:30-21:30: Visit Lantern Fair

2. The Chinese love fireworks, and before, during and after Chinese New Year, everyone sets off huge quantities of fireworks and firecrackers. Take great care while you are out walking even on busy city-centre streets. If you are tempted into buying fireworks, make absolutely sure you know how to light them.
3. With buses, cars, semis, bicycles and pedestrians moving in every direction, road crossings can be daunting.
