Day 01
Arrival at Huangshan (Tunxi)

Tangkou and
Cable car up to Mount Huangshan
After breakfast at your hotel in Tunxi, check out and deposit your suitcases in the hotel, take your valuables, passport and a bag with a change of clothes. Then drive north for about 80km and get to Tangkou Township(汤口镇) where you change for the local green bus and continue to drive for about 15 minutes along the zigzag mountain road before you get to the bus station at Yungu. Then take the cable up to Mount Huangshan. Get off at White Goose Cable Station and walk from the station to your hotel on Huangshan - Beihai Hotel. On the 2 km walk, you will see the sunning views of Stalagmite Peak, Beginning-to-Believe-Peak and A Flower Blooming on Brush Tip. Check in at your hotel - Beihai Hotel (北海饭店).
After lunch at your hotel and take a short break. Then start your afternoon sightseeing at Dawn Pavilion(曙光亭), Refreshing Terrace (清凉台)and Stone Monkey Gazing over the Sea of Clouds(猴子观海).
Return to your hotel in Beihai Hotel around. After dinner, free for rest of the day. Go to bed early preparing for next morning's the first Light of the Morning (Dawn) if fine weather (don't forget to check the sunrise time from the hotel front desk).

Day 03
Huangshan Mountain Cable down

Early in the morning, after simple washing and putting on the winter jacket available in your room, hurry down and hike about 500 meters up to Dawn Pavilion(曙光亭)by using flashlights, the best point to view the dawn and twilight in Huangshan. If you are lucky, you will catch the first sun light, but the sunrise is blocked the Beginning-to-believe Peak. Maybe that's why it is called "Dawn Pavilion" instead of "Sunrise Pavilion". After breakfast and check out around 8:30am and begin 4-hour sightseeing at Brightness Summit (光明顶). Take a 3-km walk to Brightness Summit (光明顶), the second highest peak in Hangshan, 1860 meters in altitude. Then hike down 1.5km to Flying Over Rock (飞来石). Take a 3-km walk back to Beihai Hotel.
Finishing all the sightseeing in Huangshan, have a 2km walk back to White Goose Cable Station (白鹅岭索道) and take the cable car down the mountain. Take the green bus back to Tangkou Township (汤口镇) where you are arranged to drive to Jiuhuashan. Approx.138 km northwest of Tangkou Town, Jiuhuashan is famed for its landscape and temples.
It is one of the four sacred Buddhist mountains in China. It is the earthly abode of the Bodhisattva Dizang Kshitigarbha (Guardian of the Underworld).
The other three sacred mountains are Putuoshan, Wutaishan and Emeishan.
You will stay overnight in Jiuhua Village (Jiuhua Old Town ). Jiuhuajie is nestled in the basin at the altitude of 640 meters surrounded by the mountains in all sides with an area of 4 square km, a core of Jiuhuashan Scenic Area. It is a dispatch hub for tourists and pilgrims. After dinner, you are Free for the rest of the day.

Day 04
Jiuhuashan ( Mount Jiuhua )
After breakfast at your hotel in Jiuhua Old Town, you will spend the whole day in Jiuhuashan for trekking and sightseeing. First take the cable car from Phoenix Pine Station and up to the upper station. Then you still have to climb one kilometer to reach the summit of Tiantan Temple (天台寺). Tiantai Temple is the highest temple in Jiuhuashan. It stands atop the summit of Tiantai Peak at the altitude of 1306 meters. Tiantai Temple is a must visit place for every pilgrim coming to Jiuhuashan. Take the cable car down the mountain and continue to visit Incarnation Hall ( Embalmed Body Hall ) 肉身宝殿. This is the place where the embalmed body of a Korean monk named Jin Qiaojue is buried. In 719, the monk Jin Qiaojue came to Jiuhuashan to practice Buddhism. After his Nirvana 794, Jinqiaojue was recognized as Bohdisattva Bodhisattva Dizang Kshitigarbha ( Guardian of the Underworld).
Then move on to Shantan Temple (旃檀禅林). Shantan Temple is located in the center of Jiuhuajie Town, southwest of Huacheng Temple. Some of its construction wood is sandalwood, hence the name of Shantan Temple. Shantan literally means "sandalwood". Some pillars of the temple smell of the odor of sandalwood.
Continue to visit Huacheng Temple (化城寺). It is the earliest temple in Jiuhuashan. It is located at the foot of Furong Hill in the center of Jiuhuajie Town. Huacheng Temple dates back to the year of 401 when a monk named Huaidu built a temple on this place. In Tang Dynasty the temple was named Huacheng Temple. Huacheng Temple is the largest and most elaborate temple in the town. It is a four-courtyard temple starting the entrance gate, Mahavira Hall, Back Hall and sutra depository building.

Day 05
Jiuhuashan
Hongcun Village

After breakfast, drive from Jiuhuashan to Hongcun Village. Hongcun Village is located at the foot of the southwest side of Mt. Huangshan, only 11kms away from Yixian town. It is a unique, buffalo-shaped ancient village, added to the list of the World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in late 2000. Hongcun Village is typical of Huizhou Dwellings, one of the vernacular dwellings in China, which are adapted to the characters of hills and waters there.After visiting in Hongcun Village, you drive back to Tunxi for overnight stay . You are free for the remainder of the day.

Day 06

Shexian Old Town

After breakfast at your hotel in Tunxi, you driveto Shexian Old Town (歙县古). Shexian (She County) is about 27km in the northeast of Huangshan City.
It is famous for its rich culture and long history. It is listed as one of four best preserved ancient towns in China, along with Pingyao in Shanxi, Lijiang in Yunan and Longzhong in
Sichuan Province.Shexian (歙县 She County) is representative of Hui Culture, the cradle of Peiking Opera. Shexian County (She County) is the original area of Hui merchants. She County is the main production area for the Ink and ink stone, the two treasures of the four treasures of the study. She County is also nicknamed "the county of Paifang". Paifang is also called "pailou', a traditional Chinese architectural archway.
Return to Tunxi and stroll along the Tunxi Old Street. Tunxi Old Street is a souvenir street lined with wooden shops and Ming-style Huizhou buildings. Wancuilou on the Laojie offers an in-depth look at Huizhou architecture, furniture and antiques. Duck into the side alleys for a glimpse of the bona fide slice of the local life.
At the end of the day trip and stay overnight in Tunxi.
