Starting the day with a visit to
Tiananmen Square, the world largest square of this kind. Then move on to the imperial palace, also known as the "
Forbidden City" that symbolizes the imperial and traditional China. Contine to visit
Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest. After lunch, head to , the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. It is regarded as a museum of gardens in China. Transferred back to your hotel.
After breakfast, have an excursion to the
Badaling Great Wall, a symbol of Chinese civilization. After lunch, go on with the visit to Dingling, one of the
Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors were buried in Ming Dynasty. Peking Duck dinner and Peking Opera Show in the evening.
Day 04
Beijing - Xian by air ( B L )
After breakfast, take morning flight for Xian. Met and transferred to your hotel in Xian. After lunch, your city tour begins with a visit to The
Shaanxi Provincial History Museum, a large modern museum of the national level. Then move on to The
Bell Tower and Drum Tower, dating back to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Continue to visit
Xian City Wall, a symbol of great significance of the famous historic cultural city of Xian. Back to hotel.
After breakfast at hotel, have full excursion to the
Terra-cotta Army, a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old terra-cotta Army of China' First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. After lunch, move on to
Huaqing Hot Spring. It was originally built by the emperor Emperor Xuanzong ( 685-762 ) in Tang Dynasty for his most favored concubine, Lady Young, for she loved to bathe here. After having the local flavor - dumpling dinner, enjoy Tang Dynasty Show in the evening. Transferred back to your hotel in Xian.
Day 06
Xian - Chengdu by flight ( B L D )
Take the morning flight for Chengdu. Arriving at Chengdu Airport, met by our local Englih speaking tour guide and transferred to our designated hotel in downtown Chengdu. First visit
Wangjiang Tower Park. It is one of three famous cultural sites in Chengdu. The other two are Wuhou Temple and the Du Fu Cottage. It is located on the south bank of Jinjiang River of Chengdu dedicated to a woman, Xue Tao, a poet in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The 39-meter high Wangjiang Tower is the tallest building in the park. The park is also famous for its elegant garden of bamboo. After Chinese dinner, head to
Jinli Old Street. The Jinli Old Street was first built as a commercial street during the Shu Kingdom (221 A.D.-263 A.D.). It was rebuilt in 2004 in the traditional architectural style of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The over 350-meter long Jinli Old Street is the presentation of Chengdu ordinary city life. Transferred to your hotel in Chengdu and rest of day free at leisure.
After breakfast at your hotel, head to
Chengdu Panda Breeding and Research Centre, 10 km north of Chengdu city center. The Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center has been constructed and imitated the pandas' natural habitat in the hope that they could have the best possible environment for rearing and breeding. There you can see pandas almost in their natural environment as they have plenty of space around them. They are incredibly cute to watch. They spend most of their day eating bamboo. After lunch, move on to
Sanxingdui Museum, 30 km north of the giant panda center. Sanxingdui Museum is a cultural relic of the ancient Shu (Sichuan). Sanxingdui refers to three earth piles at the site, hence Sanxingdui Relic. The museum was formally opened to public in October 1997. The displays also provide foreigners with information about the history of China. Back to your hotel and rest of day free at leisure.
Day 08
Chengdu - Lhasa by air ( B D )
After breakfast at your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight to Lhasa. Met by our guide at Lhasa airport and transfered to the downtown Lhasa. On the way, you will be arranged to visit the Nietang Buddha. Stay at your hotel in Lhasa with dinner arranged.
After breakfast, first visit the
Jokhang Temple. The Jokhang Temple was first built by King Songtsem Gampo (617 – 650). He was the 33rd king of Tibet. Walking around the Jokhang Temple is said that it can bring prosperity and peace to one's whole life. Most of them come from the remote villages or mountainous areas. Then move on to the bazaar of the
Barkhor Street. The Barkhor is the oldest street in Lhasa as well as the center of old Lhasa and remains very traditional. It is a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts are assembled. After lunch, continue to visit the
Potala Palace. The Potala Palace is built on the high land uplifting of the flat land. The palace climbing was a tough job! The palace is 115.703 meters high. People have to walked step by step to the top. The Potala Palace was built at the time of Songtsan Ganmpo in the 7th century. Return to your hotel in Lhasa after dinner.
After breakfast, head to the west of Lhasa city to visit the
Norbulingka Park. It once served as the summer palace for dalai lamas from 7th Dalai Lama who first built the palace. Each summer time, dalai lama would come here to handle political affairs. Then visit the
Tibet Museum. It is a Tibetan structure museum. It has three exhibition floors. It has abundant historical relics and treasures including prehistoric culture, united culture, culture and art, customs. After lunch, visit the
Sera Monastery. Sera is most famous for lamas debating activity each afternoon from 3:000pm. The Sera Monastery is dedicated to the Gelugpa or Yellow Hat Sect, a branch of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Tsong Khapa. After dinner, transferred back to your hotel in Lhasa.
Day 11
Lhasa - Shanghai by air ( B D )
The whole morning is free till your transfer to Lhasa Airport for your flight to Shanghai. Arrival at the Shanghai airport, met and transferred to your hotel in Shanghai. Free for rest of the day.
Day 12
Shanghai ( B L D )
First visit
Shanghai Museum, the selection of over 112,000 Chinese cultural relics from the Old Stone Age to modern times. Then proceed to visit
The Bund, one of the most noted waterfront and architectural symbols of Shanghai. After that, move on to the "Pedestrians only"
Nanjing Pedestrian Road, a walking bustling street that is always packed with people waching other people. After lunch, go to Shanghai's new zone - Pudong ( east of Huangpu River) and visit
Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower - the world's third tallest TV tower after the 553-meter CN Tower in Toronto and the 535-meter Moscow TV Tower. Finally take one hour cruising on Huang Pu River
After breakfast, visit
Yu yuan Garden, a classical Qing Dynasty garden with over 30 pavilions linked by a maze of corridors and bridges over ponds. Just next to Yuyuan Garden is the Old City God's Temple Bazaar from the Song Dyansty. In the evening dinner will be served. Then move on to
Jade Buddha Temple - the most famous Buddhist temple in Shanghai. It was built during the Guangxu Period of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1875-1909 ) and boasts of priceless collection of jade statutes from Burma. After lunch, to
People's Square - the unique and impressive outlook of the city and circled on all sides by huge and overpowering buildings. Then continue to
Shanghai Urban Planning Center. The Exhibition Hall is a six story building, with two basement levels, which displays Shanghai's urban planning and development. Move on to the
former French Concession, characterized by beautiful, tree-lined streets and weathered European architecture. Finally head to
Xi Tian Di - something like Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong and Clarke Quay in Singapore. The brick buildings on these tow-square blocks have been preserved and tranformed into trendy clubs, restaurants and boutiques. After dinner, you will be arranged to enjoy the fantastic Acrobatics show.
