Hohhot Railway Station
Hohhot Railway Station is centrally located in the Xincheng District of the city of Hohhot. The Xincheng District is one of the 4 downtown districts under Hohhot City Administration with the other three being Yuquan District, Huimin District and Saihan District.
Like other railway stations in the major cities in China, Hohhot Railway Station is alive with people, bustling about or just sitting.

Hohhot Railway Station Building and its Surrounding
The building of Hohhot Railway Station faces south, just opposit one of the main streets of Hohhot - Xinlin Gol Street (from north to south). So exit from the railway station, follow your nose, you will embark on the Xinlin Gol Street.
The middle of the railway building is the entrance to the waiting hall for the departure.
Facing the building, the train ticket booking office is located on its left side, where you prebook your train tickets with Inner Mongolia and major cities in China.

The square in front of the station is packed with private cars, taxis, buses and other kinds of local tranport tools.
The exit of Hohhot Railway Station is on the further left side of the main building, where people meet their friends, relatives disembarking from arriving trains.
Exit from the railway station, on your left side, your will see a large building of China Post and Bank of China Post.
On your right side, you will find the Hohhot Long-Distance Bus Station, where you can book the bus tickets within Inner Mongolia and for the major cities in China, like Beijing, Xian, Habrin and many more.

How to take a taxi a the station?
The waiting taixs are just on the south edge of the square in front of the main building of Hohhot Railway Station. There are some negative feedbacks on Hohhot taxi online and offline. The reasons behind are plentiful with the two major factors being the shortage of taxis in Hohhot and low taxi fares. Especially the low taxi fares much discourage the taxi drivers who in turn offer disappointing taxi service.

How to take a city bus at the station?
Hohhot buses are not well organised and very few in the Station. There are only four bus lines (line 1, 2, 34, 29) located just by the side of Hohhot Long-distance Bus Station. Taking a public bus is very daunting, the least transport we suggest you to use when you make your first visit to Hohhot. Check Hohhot Bus for more useful information.
Hohhot Railway Network
Hohhot is perched on the Jingbao Railway Line (from Beijing to Baotou). Through the trains to Beijing, Hohhot is linked to the destinations to the south and the northeast of China. There are many trains available each day leaving for the major cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Lanzhou, Chengdu, Tongliao, Xilinhot, Manzhouli, Tianjin, Harbin, Shenyang, Hangzhou , Hankou, Baotou, Guangzhou, Shijiazhuang, Xian, Yinchuan and so on.
