The museum is home to a variety of interesting exhibitions that should catch your eyes. It is sad that the captions in the museum are illustrated in only Chinese and Mongolian, but most of the items can tell for themselves.
The first floor exhibits can generally be divided into four sections:
First Section: A showcase of imperial garments and ornaments of Mongolian kings and their relatives in the past.
Second Section: Showing a huge variety of folk artifacts and relics from the generations of people.
Third Section: China's best selections of fossilized remains, mainly of animals and dinosaurs.
Fourth Section: Achievement made by Chinese government since the 1950s.
The second floor is a display of the history of the province in ancient times.
Most of the exhibits here are focused on the story of the Khan's, Genghis and Kublai, and the rise and fall of the Mongolian Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 AD). There are ome maps indicating the Yuan'sempire stretching as far as Turkey.
