Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced that it will shortly open what it says will be the largest dedicated hotel customer contact center in China.
Scheduled to open at the end of April 2009 this customer contact center will be located in the city of Guangzhou and will be equipped with the latest state-of-the-art contact center technologies and infrastructure to give support to Starwood's guests, customers and hotels.
According to Qian Jin, Starwood's senior vice president of operations for China and Taiwan, the opening of a dedicated hotel customer contact center in China is a testimony to the importance and potential of this region to Starwood. Qian added that with 47 hotels currently operating in Greater China and over 60 hotels under construction to date, with more to be signed, this customer contact center would play an important role in helping the group connect with their customers and offering them quality customer care.
Patricia Neo, Starwood's senior director for Asia Pacific, customer contact centers, stated China is currently home to the largest number of Starwood hotels outside of North America, and has the largest pipeline of new hotels outside of the United States. She added that Starwood was thrilled to be able to offer an unprecedented level of service and support to one of the world’s fastest growing regions, and firmly believed that this would play a critical role in the growth of the region.
