Wuyishan Tour
Known also as Mount Wuyi (Wuyi Mountains), Wuyishan (Wuyi Shan) has fourfold meanings which may refer to Wuyishan City proper, Wuyishan National Holiday Resort, Wuyishan Scenic Area and Wuyishan National Nature Reserve. For most Wuyishan visitors, they would stay in Wuyishan National Holiday Resort, sightseeing and mountain climbing at Wuyishan Scenic Area. If you have attained a special travel permit, you are able to visit Wuyishan National Nature Reserve. Few travelers would visit Wuyishan City proper itself which is quite similar to other booming cities in China.So Wuyishan is mainly composed of Wuyishan City (15km north of Wuyishan National Holiday Resort), Wuyishan Scenic Area ( on the west bank of Chongyang River opposite Wuishan National Holiday Resort) and Wuyishan National Nature Reserve (40km west of Wuyishan Scenic Area) and Wuyishan Scenic Area.
The Wuyi Mountains are located at Nanping, the northern border of Fujian province with Jiangxi Province. The mountains cover an area of 60 km². In 1999, Mount Wuyi was listed as UNESCO's World Heritage Site, both natural and cultural. It is the most important biodiversity conservation area of Southeast China. It is the origin of the famous Da Hong Pao tea.
Part of Wuyi Mountains has been allocated for Wuyishan Scenic Area open to the public. On May 8, 2007, Wuyishan Scenic Area was approved by the National Tourism Administration as Nation 5A Class Scenic Area. The major attractions in Wuyishan Scenic Area include bamboo rafting on the Nine Bend River, ascending Heavenly Tour Peak (Tianyou Peak), climbing the Roaring Tiber Rock, walking through A Thread of Sky, appreciating the Water Curtain Cave, viewing Da Hong Pao Tea Trees and immersing yourself in the ancient village of Xiamei.
Now Mount Wuyi has become a popular place for Chinese tourists. If you come midweek and off season (March, Aparil and November), and avoid public holidays, you have have the area to yourself.

Train Travel to Wuyishan
Wuyishan Railway Station is located about 10 km north of your lodging hotel in Wuyishan National Holiday Resort. Usually there are some local Wuyishan taxis lining up or parking randomly in front of Wuyishan Train Station. Try to spot a taxi driver with a kind face. Basically the 10 km drive from Wuyishan Train Station to Wuyishan National Holiday Resort takes you about 20 - 30 yuan. If you don't like to take a taxi, you just walk about 15 minutes and get to the main avenue - Wuyi Avenue, then hail the Mini Bus No.06 running between Wuyishan city and Wuyishan National Holiday Resort. It only costs you 3 yuan from Wuyishan Railway Station to Wuyishan Resort.
Most of the trains to Wuyishan are passing by trains coming from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xian, Guangzhou...
Flight Travel to Wuyishan
As a civil and military airport, Wuyishan Airport is located midway between Wuyishan City ( 9km north of the airport ) and Wuyishan National Holiday Resort ( 7km south of the airport ). So Wuyishan Airport is only 7km north of your lodging hotel in Wuyishan National Holiday Resort.Wuyishan Airport is an all year round airport, well linked with 27 cities and regions in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao, Shezhen, Xiamen, Zhuhai, Shantou, Changchun, Shenyang, Dalian, Tianjin, Jinan, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Zhengzhou, Xian, Haikou, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Jingjiang, zhoushan, Kunming and etc
Lots of taxis are lining up in front of Wuyishan Airport Terminal for business. Wuyishan Taxis have several type of cars. The main type of taxi in Wuyishan is Jetta, Fukang and Kia… In some cases, the taxi drivers would like to bargain with you for the destination you are going. Usually from airport to Wuyishan National Holiday Resort, the taxi fare will be approxi. RMB 30.
There are no airport shuttle buses connecting either Wuyishan National Holiday Resort and Wuyishan City. But you can make use of the Public Bus No.6 or No.5 running between Wuyishan City and Wuyishan National Holiday Resort.
You just walk about 5 minutes to the main avenue – Wuyi Avenue. By the Wuyi Avenue, you can easily hail the Bus No.6 or No.5 either for Wuyishan City or Wuyishan National Holiday Resort for the bus fare of RMB 3.
Get Around in Wuyishan
Basically Wuyishan is composed of three parts - Wuyishan Holiday Resort, Wuyishan Scenic Area and Wuyishan City. Most visitors would stay at Wuyishan Holiday Resort since it is located just next to Wuyishan Scenic Area which is your travel destination. You can easily walk 20 minutes from your hotel in Wuyishan Holiday Resort to Wuyi Palace, the entrance to the core of Wuyishan Scenic area. You also can take a taxi for 10 yuan or a trishaw for 5 yuan.
Wuyishan Holiday Resort is walkable. Or you can make use of the trishaw to get arouund for 5 yuan.
If you would like to to go to Wuyishan City from Wuyshan Holiday Resort, you can take the mini Bus no.06 for 3 yuan.
