Train Travel to Zhengzhou
Currently Zhengzhou has two large passenger railway stations - Zhengzhou Railway Station and Zhengzhou East Railway Station. The centrally located Zhengzhou Railway Station is the main railway station that now mainly operates Z, T, K trains and a small number of high speed trains; Zhengzhou East Railway Station is the largest high speed train hub around the world mainly designed for high speed trains.

When to Visit Zhengzhou
Zhengzhou features four distinct seasons. It is dry with little rainfall in spring, hot and rainy in summer, sunny in autumn, and cold with little rain and snow in winter.
September and October are the best time to visit Zhengzhou, a beautiful autumn time in Zhengzhou. You may visit Yellow River Scenic Area, Shaolin Temple and Songshan Mountain with spectacular waterfall, streams due to the increasing rainfall in autumn.

Erqi Memorial Tower （二七塔）
Erqi Memorial Tower, located at the Erqi Square of Zhengzhou, was built in 1971. Erqi Memorial Tower is the memorial of the Erqi Strike, which occurred on February 7, 1923.A winding stair inside the tower brings you up to the top floor, where you can get a bird's-eye view of the whole city of Zhengzhou.
Yellow River Scenic Area(黄河游览区)
Zhengzhou Yellow River Scenic Area is a National 4A Class tour region which is located at 30 kilometers to the northwest of the Zhengzhou. The scenic area is surprisingly beautiful. As seen from a high point in this scenic area, the mighty Yellow River rushes by and demonstrates tremendous force with rolling and falling of the river's torrents.
Zhengzhou Dahecun Ruins ( 大河村遗址)
12km north of Zhengzhou, the large scale Zhengzhou Dahecun Ruins offers a good model of Yangshao culture with many well preserved building foundations in a unique "Wood & Bone" architectural style. It also offers an important resource for further research into ancient Chinese constructions methods.
Shaolin Temple (少林寺）
Shaolin Temple, or Shaolin Monastery, is in the region of Song Mountain, Dengfeng City, Zhengzhou. Founded in the 5th century, Shaolin Temple is long famous for its association with Chinese martial arts and particularly with Shaolin Kung Fu, and it is the Mahayana Buddhist monastery perhaps best known to the Western world.
Temple of Huang Di's birthplace (黄帝故里)
60km south of Zhengzhou, Xinzheng is known as one of the birth places of Chinese nation. The legendary Yellow Emperor was said to have been born in Xinzheng 5000 years ago.
The Huang Di's Birthpalce Area is mainly composed of 5 districts showing the related Huangdi Culture. Every year a grand ceremony is held to commemorate the birth of Huangdi.
North Song Dynasty Imperial Tombs 北宋皇陵
At the city of Gongyi, 80km east of Zhengzhou, lies the North Song Dynasty Imperial Tombs. The Mausoleum of Northern Song Dynasty is the burial site for seven emperors in North Song Dynasty (960-1127), together with their empresses, princes, princesses and ministers. The tomb area resembles an open-air museum with thousands of stone carvings.
Get Around in Zhengzhou
BusIn Zhengzhou downtown, most of buses provide service from 06:00 to 20:00. RMB 2 is for an air-conditioned bus while RMB 1 for a bus without air-conditioner. Tourist Bus Y1 goes to Zijingshan Park, Zhengzhou Zoo and Yellow River Scenic Area. Taking Y16 can reach Fengle Grange and Yellow River Scenic Area.
Trolley Buses
Trolley Buses are common in Zhengzhou city, which are crossing at the railway station. The ticket fare is about the same with that of buses, from RMB1 to RMB2.

Local Cuisines in Zhengzhou

Huimian
Huinian (stewed noodles) is a traditional cuisine in Zhengzhou with a long history. Without exaggeration it is the No.1 dish in every Zhengzhou local's heart. It cooks the noodle in the mutton soup and then adds some materials such as the cooked mutton, citron daylily and agaric. It tastes great with the fresh mutton soup.
Cooking carp in three styles
It is dish that you can have three tastes with the carp. The three cooking styles will be used to cook the three parts of the carp. You will taste the fried carp, sweet and sour carp and the carp soup just in one dish. The carp grows up in Yellow River and before cooked it has been soaked in fresh water for three or four days.
Tube Chicken
Tube Chicken (Tong Zi Ji) used to be the famous dish of Kaifeng. After the store moved to Zhengzhou in 1954, Tube Chicken became one of popular dishes in Zhengzhou. It features bright yellow color, fat but not greasy and the more chewing, the more fragrant.
Men Bing
Men Bing is another improvement of flapjack. It is a mixture of shred flapjack, pot meat and some seasonal vegetable.
