Mt. Huangshan
Mt. Huangshan, in Anhui Province, is one of the ten celebrated scenic spots in China. Originally known as Mt. Yishan it was renamed Mt. Huangshan in 747 AD in recognition of the legendary Huang Di, who was the reputed ancestor of the Chinese people and who made magic pills for immortality here.
Mt. Huangshan has so many beautiful scenes that one simply can’t take them all in such as lofty peaks, steep valleys, winding streams and brooks, luxuriant plants and trees. The attractive landscapes scattered in the vast area include three lakes, three falls, twenty ponds, twenty-four streams, seventy-two peaks, accompanied with the majestic view of sunrise, gorgeous sunset glow and wonderful Buddha halo.
Huangshan Mountain is especially famous for its beautiful pine trees, jagged rocks in strange shapes, bubbling hot springs and rapidly changing clouds, which form a unique spectacle of its own that will enchant the tourists so much as to make them linger on and on.
