Resonant Sand Gorge, Inner-Mongolia
The resonant sand gorge, meaning “dune with bugle” in Mongolian, lies to the north edge of the Kubuqi Desert with 400 meters wide and 110 meters high. The terrain is in the shape of crescent with the incline of 45 degree, coming into being a huge dune aftersound wall. When tourists slide from top to down by cable car in the dry day, you will hear “thunder” from the dune, as the cry of frog lightly or as the roar of the plane and autocar heavily, even like an insurgent sinfonia. It is said that the noise of sliding sand, after which the place is named, was thought by Marco Polo to be demons seeking to lure travelers to their death.
Resonant Sand Gorge collects forceful desert culture and profound Mongolian folk custom. You could take a view of the desert by ropeway, dance in the side, ride on the camel to contact the desert in zero distant.
The Resonant Sand Gorge Tourist Season is held in Sep. every year, including rich and colorful activities such as the desert revelry night, skyrocket party, Mongolian Costume Exhibition, etc, so it is said that it is more a place of natural beauty than of historical importance.
