Jiangsu Tour
Jiangsu Province is an eastern coastal province with Nanjing as its capital city. It is situated to the south of Shandong Province, the north of Shanghai and Zhejiang Province, and the east of Anhui Province. China's longest river - Yangtze River cuts through the south Jiangsu, which divides the province into three regions - the north of Yangtze River ( Xuzhou and Lianyungang ); a transitional mixture area ( Nanjing and Yangzhou) and the south of Yangtze River ( Wuxi, Changzhou, Zhenjiang and Suzhou).
Historically the south Jiangsu was much wealthier and more prosperous than the north. Today the south province still keeps its developing momentum largely owe to its close proximity to neighboring Shanghai. Shanghai itself was split out from Jiangsu Province 18th century and now it has developed from a small town into a metropolitan city.
Jiangsu is home to the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the classical gardens of Suzhou, the Grand Canal, an ancient engineering masterpiece and Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, the burial place for Zhu Yuanzhang, the First Emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644 ). The south Jangsu is well known for its numerous water towns of the old world charms with crisscrossed canals.
