Baisha Murals is the production of Naxi nation, protracted from the beginning of Ming Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty. The Baisha Murals flourished in the early Ming Dynasty, with a history of more than 500 years up to the present.
The Baisha Murals, are very valuable heritages and a state-level key cultural relics. It is the largest collection of murals in Lijiang place. It has the essence of the Han, Tibetan and Naxi, which are the art treasures in murals.
Baisha murals have eclectic cultures and the arts of various religious, mixing the stories of Buddhist, Taoism and Lamaism into one picture. This rich fusion, had resulted in a tremendously powerful art, heavy in spirit and awe-inspiring in its presentation of the mystical world.
Dominated by black, silver, dark green, gold and red colors, the murals in the back hall, overlaid with centuries of brown soot, are doomladen and bizarre. The topics of the murals involves in a comprehensive range, such as horses, lotus, fields, flowers, birds, grass, insects and other natural scenery, and it is the performance of the social life.
