Shangri-la, Lijiang
Shangri-la means “the sun and moon in the heart”, the symbol of forever, peace, and quiet, which is a fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton. In the book, “Shangri-la” is a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery.
Shangri-la is located in the triangle area of Dian, Chuan and Tibet. It is worthy of a Pure Land that preserve the natural zoology and traditional culture perfectly. It brings you the blue sky, clean air and brilliant sunshine. People live a simple and peaceful life under the sky. It is a multinational place including Tibetan, Han, Bai, Hui, etc. Each of the minorities keep their own custom, life style, and architecture style, so the Shangri-la is composed of colorful national custom.
Shangri-la is also celebrated as “the kingdom of animal and plant”, “the kingdom of colored metal”, as well as “a garden on the high mountain”.
