| This hotel is approximately 15 minute walk to Old Town Lijiang. Their in room brochure showed many famous leaders/individuals who had stayed at this facility, i.e. Jiang Zemin, President of the People's Republic of China. Stayed at Guangfang Hotel for two nights as part of tour package. The best overall hotel experience for me during this Yunnan Province tour which included four other hotels. Well furnished clean, quiet room. Comfortable beds. Helpful staff. Buffet breakfasts with ample selections (eastern and western foods) in the hotel dining room was included in our package. |

| Guanfang Hotel is one of the tallest buildings in Lijiang. Good views of the surrounding area but slightly far away from the Old Town (a taxi ride costing 7 yuan will take you there). The food at Wanfu Palace Restaurant (Cantonese cuisine) was delicious & reasonably priced. We were the only customers there initially and it was quite daunting to have five people standing round the table waiting for us to decide what we'd like to order. We were on the 16th floor and enjoyed the views from the glass lift. Shop tucked away on the 2nd floor is well stocked and has many local snacks, sweets, crisps and instant noodles for sale. Internet charges quite reasonable - 15 yuan for 30 minutes. Breakfast selection satisfactory but the differnt types of French bread available is worth a mention. |

We had a wonderful two nights here as part of our China tour. This hotel is outside of the old city walls but that was not a problem to us. It is a high rise building but you will get grand views from the upper floors with an outside lift to take you there too. Our room was on a corner so we got a slightly larger room & a wonderful view towards the mountains. During rush hour in the street we were entertained by a policeman at the junction doing a good Michael Jackson style of directing traffic. |
