Arriving at Hohhot, met by our English speaking tour guide at Hohhot Railway Station, or Hohhot Airport. Then take a private van to Gegentala Grassland. Gegentala Grassland is 140km from Hohhot, about 2 hours' drive.
You will receive a welcoming ceremony - you will be warmly welcomed by the local Mongolians colorfully dressed. Afer lunch, go to the stud farm to select the horse for your horseback riding. The cost for horseback riding is not included in the tour package. Usually RMB 150 per round per person including the horse riding.
After horseback riding, you are arranged to see the Performances of Mongolian style wrestling, Horse racing and Equestrian at 5:00pm. After dinner, take a break till 9:pm when you go to an open place in front of the main complex to enjoy bonfire party.
The sunrise on the grassland is one of the greatest marvellous spectacle in nature. With the sun coming out, everything turns brighter and brighter.
After simple breakfast, you will return to Hohhot. After lunch in Hohhot, you will be arranged to first visit Dazhao Lamasery. Dazhao lamasery is the first Lama temple in Hohhot. Then move on to Saishanglaojie. Saishanglaojie literally means "Old street beyond the Great Wall".
Then move on to Five Pagoda Temple. The Five Pagoda Temple is an important Tibetan Buddhist temple. Then, you will visit the Hui District in Hohhot. You first visit the Great Mosque. The Great Mosque was founded during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
After dinner, take overnight train K177(23:47 - next morning 8:17) for Yinchuan.
Arrival at Yinchuan at 8:17am, met by our local tour guide. You are transferred to our designated hotel in Yinchuan. After lunch, start your first visit to Nanguan Mosque. The Nanguan Mosque is one of the largest mosques in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in North China. The mosque has a high status among the Hui people. Then move on to Haibao Pagoda. Also known as the North Pagoda, Haibao Pagoda is located on the north outskirts of Yinchuan. Unique in style and exquisite in construction, it is a precious treasure of ancient pagodas in China. Back to your hotel in Yinchuan.
After breakfast, head to Helan Mountains for visiting the rock carvings. The Helanshan Rock Carvings are located 60km northwest of Yinchuan. The cliff carvings in Mt.Helan were done by the nomadic poeple in north China during Warring States period and Western Xia State. These carvings depict the life, religious activities, wars, herding, and hunting of the minority peoples at that time.
After lunch, head to the Western Xia Tombs, 40km west of Yinchan city. These were the royal tombs of the Western Xia State about 800 year ago. Nine kings and more than 140 royal family members of Xixia State were buired here covering an area of 50 square kilometers. The tombs are in the shape of pyramid, hence its name the Pyramid in China. Transferred back to your hotel in Yinchuan.
After breakfast, head to the 108 Dagobas at Qingtongxia, 100km south of Yinchuan. These dagobas are located on Xiakou Mountain in Qingtongxia County on a slope of the west bank of the Yellow River. They are arranged in triangle of twelve rows. According to historical records and the dagobas structure, it is reported that they maybe have been built early in the Ming Dynasty.
Then continue to drive to Shapotou Tourist Area. The famous desert paradise is located 20km east of Zhongwei City. This area is well known for its Yellow River running through the desert. You are on your own to do the activities like sand sliding, camel riding, sheepskin rafting, sand surfing). Visiting Tonghu Grassland and Bonfire Party in the evening.
Take overnight train K1087(21:14 - next morning 8:57) for Xian
Arrival in Xian at 8:17, met and transferred to your hotel in Xian. After lunch, your city tour begins with a visit to The Shaanxi Museum - a large modern museum of the national level. Then move on to Big Goose Pagoda. Originally Big Goose Pagoda consisted of a brick structure of five storeys and was about 60 meters high. Originally built in 589A.D.
Continue to visit the Great Mosque, the biggest and most preserved complete Chinese existent mosque. It was first built at the Tianbao first year (742 years) during Tang Dynasty. After having the local flavor - dumpling dinner, enjoy Tang Dynasty Show in the evening. Transferred back to your hotel.
After breakfast at hotel, have an excursion to the Terra-cotta Army - a lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2200-year-old terra-cotta Army of China' First Emperor-Qin Shihuang. After lunch, drive back to the city center and visit the Xian City Wall, a symbol of great significance of the famous historic cultural city of Xian. Back to your hotel.
After breakfast, you are transferred to Xian airport or railway station for your next destination.

Day 01
