Quanzhou Travel Guide
Location: Quanzhou borders all other prefecture-level cities in Quanzhou but tow (Ningde and Nanping) and faces the Taiwan Strait.
History: Quanzhou, formerly known as Zaitun, was one of the earliest places in China opened to the outside world and is a historical and cultural city famous. The earliest records of friendly contact between Quanzhou and the countries of Southeast Asia date from the Southern Dynasties in the sixth century.
By the Tang dynasty, Quanzhou had already become one of China's four greatest ports. In the Song and Yuan, Quanzhou became as famous a port as Alexandria. With increasing economic and cultural interaction, Quanzhou became a centre of East-West cultural exchange. The remnants of the ancient Minyue culture, the civilization of the Central Plains of China, and foreign cultures all intermingled together, forming a comples and multifaceted culture unique in the Chinese cultural sphere.
Transportation: Quanzhou is an important transport hub within south eastern Quanzhou province. Many export industries in the Quanzhou interior cities will transport goods to Quanzhou ports. Quanzhou Port was one of the most prosperous port in Tang Dynasty while now still an important one for exporting. Quanzhou is also connected by major roads from Fuzhou to the north and Xiamen to the south. Jinjiang Domestic Airport is Quanzhou's airport servicing flights within Quanzhou province and other destinations.

Weather: Quanzhou enjoys a typical sub-tropical marine climate, it has cool and short winter, and the average annual temperature is 18~22 degrees C. The best time for visiting Quanzhou is from April to November.

Qingyuan Mountain
Qingyuan Mountain is the only AAAAA Tourist Attraction in Quanzhou and a landmark scenic spot in Quanzhou.Qingyuan Mountain is located in the northern suburbs of Quanzhou, so it is commonly known as North Mountain; It is also called Qiyun Mountain (Qiyun: along with the cloud) because there are often clouds and mists between its peaks. Qingyuan Mountain is famous for its 36 caves and 18 scenic spots. Qingyuan Mountain not only has beautiful natural scenery, but also rich cultural history. It is a holy land of Taoism in southern Fujian and also the life footprint of Master Hongyi.
The three main attractions of Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area are: Laojun Rock, Hongyi Master's Pagoda, and Qingyuan Tianhu.
Qingshui Yan Temple
Qingshuiyan Temple is located in Qingshuiyan, Penglai Town, Anxi County, Quanzhou City. Qingshuiyan was first built in the eighth year of the Yuanyou reign of the Song Dynasty (1093), and the existing building is built during the Qing Dynasty.
It is a AAAA Tourist Attraction, with temples built on the mountain and hidden in lush forests. Surrounded by clouds and mist, it appears particularly elegant.
Qingjing Mosque
Qingjing Mosque, originally named Shengyou Mosque, also known as Aisuhab Great Mosque, is located in Tumen Street, Quanzhou City. It is the oldest surviving Islamic temple created by Arab Muslims in China. It was first built in the second year of the Dazhong Xiangfu reign of the Northern Song Dynasty (1009 AD).
Together with Yangzhou Xianhe Mosque, Guangzhou Huaisheng Mosque, and Hangzhou Fenghuang Mosque, it is known as the four major ancient Islamic mosques in China. Its establishment is one of the important historical sites for overseas exchanges in Quanzhou.
