Shanghai Botanical Garden

If you are an anthomania, then Shanghai Botancial Garden is your must.
As the premier garden, Shanghai Botanical Garden is opened to public in 1978 after 4 year’s construction and landscaping. Since its set up, the garden has received 10,000,000 tourists. In 1996 it is reviewed as the one of the favorite outing destination and in 2000 it is awarded the best place on Children’s Day in the new century.
The ground, covering 81 hectares (200 acres), are divided into spacious sectors specializing in magnolias, peonies, maples, azaleas, roses, osmanthus, ferns, bamboo and conifers. The Orchid Garden is regarded as the best in China. There is also a medical plant garden with an area of 20,000 square meters. The total of herbal medicine is up to 600. Its hallmark sections are Penjing Yuan (Bonsai Garden) and the Exhibition Greenhouse.
