Pick up from your hotel in Xian, escorted to Xian North Railway Station either by taxi or subway and take the high speed train for Mt.Huashan.
Arriving at Huashan North Railway Station, you take the local tourist bus to Tourist Dispatch Center for Mt. Huashan Scenic Spot. All passengers are supposed to go to the Dispatch Center for Mt. Huashan Scenic Spot where people buy entrance tickets and bus tickets. Each entrance ticket for Mt.Huashan is valid in two days which also covers the admission for Xiyue Temple.
Take the shuttle bus from the Dispatch Center to Huangpu Yu, the starting point for cable car up to the North Peak. Mt.Huashan is mainly composed of 5 peaks – North Peak (1614.pm), the Central Peak(2037.8m), East Peak(2096.m), West Peak(2086.2m) and South Peak (2154.9m). You will arrange to visit the North Peak and retrace. It takes about 6 minutes up to the North Peak. You get off the cable car and continue to walk up for 15 minutes before we reach the platform of the North Peak with the West Peak and East Peak as the backdrop.
You can continue your climb further to the Wipe Ear Precipice and return. Take the same cable down and take the tourist bus to get to Xiyue Temple. Mt.Huashan is one of the five sacred Taoist mountains in China. Each of them has a temple to shrine the God of its mountain. As Dai Temple for the God of Mt.Taishan, Xiyue Temple is for the God of Mt.Huashan. "Xiyue" means the West Mountain, one of the five Taoist mountains ( east, west, north, south and central mountains).
Xiyue Temple used to be an imperial worshipping place for the God of Mt.Huashan. So its buildings had higher level of architectures, quite different from the temples of the local communities or common people. It resembles the greatness of Forbidden City!
Xiyue Temple was originally built by Wu Emperor (134BC) in West Han Dynasty (202BC-09AD). It was relocated to the present place in East Han Dynasty (25AD-220AD). The temple received great expansions in Sui and Tang dynasties (581AD-907AD). It further developed and reached its climax in Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368AD-1911AD).
After the excursion, return to Xian by the high speed train departing from Huashan North Railway Station to Xian at 6:00 om. Arriving at Xian North Railway Station, you are escorted to your hotel in Xian either by taxi or subway.
