Beijing Airport Express Train
On the plane from Hohhot to Beijing, I read a piece of news from the local Beijing Evening News Paper saying that the new Beijing Airport Express Train was opened yesterday ( July 19, 2008 ). I decide to take the fast subway to the downtown area - Dongzhimen, where I can take a taxi home. The indoor express train station is on the second floor of the parking lot linked to the main building by a long corridor. The station below is the parking lot for private cars and vans. There is a huge beamless transparent dome over the station. Actually it is quite hot inside without any air-conditioning. The train operates every time per 15 munites. It has two stops - Terminal 2 and Sanyuan Bridge before getting to the destination - Dongzhimen where you can change for Sunway Line No.02, No. 13 and Olympics Line. The express train is clean and bright. After all, the train is built in a personalized style, luxury and comfortable. It is spacious with wide corridors. In eacg car, there is a TV set showing the latest Olympic News. It only takes about half hour from Terminal 3 to Dongzhimen. The train ticket costs RMB 25 per person.
