History: Hengyang City is well known for its long history of more than 2,000 years. It is the second biggest city in southern Hunan Province. It has been called a “city of wild geese” since ancient times, as flocks of wild geese stay here for the winter after a long journey from the north. Within the city there is Returning Goose Peak, a symbol of the “city of wild geese”.
Climate: Hengyang enjoys a humid monsoon climate, characterized by clear distinctions among the four seasons and a rather short period of server cold. Its annual average temperature varies from 16ºC-18 ºC. The annual average rainfall is about 1,200-1,700mm and a sufficient sunshine time of 1,300-1,900 hours.
Transportation: Air-Huanghua International Airport is about 170kms to Hengyang. It takes 2 hours to the airport from Hengyang city.
Railway- Jing Guang(From Beijing to Guangzhou) line and Xiang Gui (From Hengyang to Nanning) intersect at Hengyang. Everyday more than 100 trains stop at Hengyang Station, linking the city to most cities of China.
Highway- There are two bus stations in the city. Hengyang Central Bus Station, Former Western Bus Station, is located at the City Center where you could take buses to other cities of Hunan Province. Linghu Bus Station, formerly Hengyang Eastern Bus Station, is located on the edge of the city where you could take buses to southern and eastern parts of the city.
