Location: Yueyang, as a well-known cultural city, is situated on the bank of Dongting Lake.

Climate: As Yueyang is in the northern subtropical monsoon wetness area with a mean annual average temperature of 17℃ and annual average rainfall of 1302mm. It is one of the places enjoying the most hours of sunshine in Hunan Province.
Transportation: At present, there is no airport in Yueyang. Travelers can take plane in Changsha or Wuhan.
Railway Station- Located in Xianfeng Road, everyday there are more than 70 trains from Yueyang Rialway Station to Beijign, Jinan, Guangzhou, Guilin, Wuhan, Kunming, Changsha, etc.
Highway-There are four long-distance bus stations in Yueyang: Yueyang Bus Station, North Jianshe Road Bus Station, Baling Bus Station and East Baling Road Bus Station. Passenger Buses manly go from Yueyang to some big cities such as Wuha, Changsha, Nanning, etc..
Waterway-As an important port along the Yangtze River, ships from Chenglingji Wharf go upstream to Chongqing and go downtown to Shanghai.
Specialties: Tortoise-snake Wine, paper folding fans, artistic porcelain wares, wood and bamboo wares, Baling wine, Tuanhu lotus seed and Yinzhen (Silver Needle) tea.
Local Food: Located on the bank of Dongting Lake, restaurants in Yueyang cook fish with different tastes. The most famous is Baling (Yueyang was called Baling in ancient time) Fish Banquet
Attraction: Yueyang Tower- known as one of the “the three famous towers in the south of the Yangtze River”, Yueyang Tower stand on the shore of Dongting Lake in Yueyang City. Standing on the bank of Dongting Lake, Yueyang Tower is magnificent and imposing, overlooking the 800-li-Dongting Lake scattered with sailing boats. The picturesque scenery attracted great poets of the Tang Dynasty like Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi and Li Shangyin etc, who wrote numerous poems after visiting Yueyang Tower. Many of the poems have been widely read throughout the ages.
