Datong Drum Tower
Like many cities in China, Datong has its own Drum Tower. Located in the middle section of South Street, Drum Tower is a typical Ming Dynasty-style architecture remedied many times in Qing Dynasty.
As per the record, Datong in Ming Dynasty, gorgeous pavilions stand in great numbers. The east stand Taiping Tower, Bell Tower in the west, Kuixing Tower in the north and Drum Tower in the south, however, most of these were destroyed by war and natural disaster, only Drum tower survived.
Datong Drum Tower has three layers with 17.65-meter long, 14.55-meter wide and 20-meter high surrounded by a cloister. Taking a overlook, the whole Datong City is taken a glance. Its unique sculpt and artful layout make you acclaim it as the peak of perfection; Its elegance and delicacy make you unwilling to leave.
