On the south of the West Lake are located many scenic and historical sites like Jin Ci Temple, Leifeng Pagoda and Long Bridge Park. Jinci Temple is situated on the Nanping Hill, south of the West Lake. Jingci Temple is attractrive to the pilgrims for various resons. One is that the famous rebel monk Ji Gong once live here in the temple during the Southern Song Dynasty. People like this monk because of his firm disregard for monastic rules. He ate meat. He drank wine. He helped the poor. The "Evening Bell Ringing at Nanping Hill" is one of the top Ten Views of West Lake.
Leifeng Pagoda is a five story tower with eight sides, located on Sunset Hill south of the West Lake. Originally it was constructed in the year AD 975. But it collapsed in 1924. It was rebuilt in 2002, since then it has become a popular tourist attraction in Hangzhou.
The Long Bridge Park is located at the southeast corner of West Lake. It is just a few centimetres above the water, a sight to give you much fantasy. The Long Bridge Which is Not Long.
