| We visited Chengde on an escorted tour with Kuoni, and of the four hotels we visited, this one was the least modern and fabulous, but in the best location. After several days of being bussed everywhere, the opportunity to get out and walk around on our own was very welcome. We even saw on the first evening of our stay, by an enormous roundabout, ladies doing their dance-exercies with live accompaniment from local musicians. |
