History: Artux has gone through many changes over its long history. As the only green pearl on the edge of Tarim Basin, Artuxs struggled with the nature from generation to generation, eventually, created today’s visage.
Climate: Artux has a distinct seasons with plenty sunlight, and rainless. Spring is much floating dust, summer is hot, autumn is cool and winter is cold. The average temperature is 11℃.
Transportation: The transportation in Artux is convenient basically. 14 national highways go through the city. Artux is about 30kms from Kashgar Airport.

Major Attractions:
Mt. Mustagh Ata (Father of Glacier) – Mt. Mustagh Ata is the second highest peak in the Kunlun Shan. The highest is Kongur, Muztagh Ata’s immediate neighbor to the northeast. Mt. Mustagh Ata is only 15 miles from the China-Tajikistan border. Because of its proximity to the highway, the mountain is easily approached, and its gradual western slops entice many climbers, but its elevation along makes any ascent of Muztagh Ata a serious climb.
The ancient city of Shule – Located in Nanmushahe Village of Artux, the ancient city of Shule covers an area of 10 square kilometers, there are the smoke towers of the Han Dynasty, castles of the Tang Dynasty, dilapidated walls, temples, and pagodas of the Yuan Dynasty.
