Luntai Travel Guide
The Luntain County is in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and under the administration of the Bayin’gholin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. It contains an area of 14, 189 sq km, with a population of 90,000. Luntai has a long history associated with China. During the beginning of the Sino-Xiongnu War, the armies of Emperor Wu of Han conquered and subjugated Bugur as part of a larger Central Asian campaign.

Diversifolious Poplar Forest - Diversifolious Poplar Forest Park is located in the north of Taklimakan Desert, the middle portion of Tarim River. It is 70 km far away from the desert highway in Luntai, Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture of Bayingolin. It is the biggest ancient poplar forest park in Xinjiang, and the habitat of poplar trees in Tarim River Basin. It is 100 square km in area. There are sights of Tarim River, the poplar trees, the desert and the oil industry. It is a good a tourist resort of sightseeing, entertainment, adventure, scientific expedition and vacation.
