Guangdong Food
Guangdong cuisine is one of the most prominent regional cuisines in China. Its cooking style and methods are quite unique and different from those in other parts of China due to its geographic location - the mountainous area in the northern Guangdong and the South China sea in the south. Guangdong food is mainly divided into three branches: the traditional Guangdong food; Chaozhou food (similar to Fujian cuisine) and Dongjiang food (represented by Huizhou food).
Guangzhou has a unqiue food culture and a cusine paradise in China. The highlight of Guangzhou food includes Dim sum and Yum cha which could be found almost in all parts of Guangzhou. There are many tiny eateris providing local flavor snacks and desserts.
As a migration city, Shenzhen offers a wide variety of cuisines coming from different parts of China including the international cuisines as well. So in Shenzhen it is easier to find your hometown food. In Zhuhai, the area bordering the border gate with Macao is teeming with restaurants offering a wide choice of cuisines local and international. In Chaozhou, you will have an opportunity to taste a unqiue cuisine different from Guangzhou or traditional Guangdong food and it is called Chiu Chow dishes. The local old town has many tiny eateries providing the local flovors including steamed crabs and fish balls in the soup.
